On a nice morning, who wouldn’t want a stroll, followed by a hot breakfast at an outdoor cafe? Well, that’s exactly what one can do – right here in Cresswell.
Ian Barlow is the local lad, born & bred round here, who runs the hot-food stall on the Blythe Business Park in Cresswell. From his van (next to the Dance Studio), he serves all sorts of foods & drink, with bacon baps being the favourite!
Though he mostly caters for the needs of those who work on the park, anyone can go onto the site and get a warming treat, either as a take-away or to eat at the outdoor tables & chairs provided – a pleasant way to spend a morning in the fresh air. Ian even has newspapers on hand for folks to borrow!
Ian is a qualified chef, but his real passion is military history, so there’s no lack of a subject for conversation either!
The ‘Little House Lunch Box’ as Ian calls his business, is open 8.30am-2pm six days a week (not Sunday). You can even book your order in advance, as nearly everything is cooked fresh (tel – 07765 617071, though no website as yet). It currently has a 5* Rating from Environmental Health.
And what does Ian do on weekends? As the van is mobile, he’s often hired for event catering – so you might see him at a local fair.
Nice to see a local lad doing so well.
