Against expectations, Draycott Potter FC are through to the next round of the Subsidiary Cup.
Though the team , which plays on the Cresswell Old Road ground, is doing really well in Division One of the Uttoxeter & District Sunday Football League, the so-called ‘Subsidiary’ Cup – aka the Sub Cup – could be the cream on this season’s cake.
By defeating Stone Town on Sunday with a magnificent score of 6-3, the team did us all proud, and can now expect to be one of the favourites to make the final of the Cup.
The next round of the Sub Cup is, like the first round, a league-style set up, in which Draycott must play three other teams in a round-robin. Whoever come top will play in the final.
We’ll let you know the fixtures as soon as they have been arranged.
(Draycott Potter’s previous games in the Sub Cup were: a 6-5 victory against The Star, and a 3-3 draw with Fox’s).
